Large polyp stony, or LPS, corals are corals with a relatively larger polyp size typically complementing large mouths. Most of these corals are recognized by their very soft and fleshy polyp character. LPS corals tend to be slower growing due to their reproductive methods via fission, budding, encrustation, among other reproductive strategies.
